About the Authors:

Barbara Kimmel spent fifteen years employed in the New York area, as an immigration consultant, with many international companies and several prominent immigration lawyers. During that time she successfully guided thousands of aliens through the immigration process. In 1990 Barbara began writing, publishing and distributing books on immigration and related subjects. Her first book, Immigration Made Simple, was published in 1990. This book has received outstanding professional reviews, and has been a Quality Books #1 bestseller. Thousands of copies have been distributed both domestically and internationally. The second edition was published in 1992, and the third edition was released in January 1996, at the same time as Citizenship Made Simple.

Kimmel holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Affairs from Lafayette College in Pennsylvania and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Bernard M. Baruch Graduate School of Business of the City University of New York. She is the president and publisher of Next Decade, Inc., in Chester, NJ.

Alan Lubiner has been practicing Immigration Law since 1975. From 1975 until 1981, he was employed by the Immigration & Naturalization Service as an Immigration Officer and Attorney. In 1981, Mr. Lubiner opened a private law practice, specializing in Immigration law. He currently maintains offices in Kenilworth, New Jersey and New York City, and has successfully handled thousands of immigration cases.

Lubiner holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from New York University and a Juris Doctorate degree from Brooklyn Law School. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, an affiliated organization of the American Bar Association, and served on its Board of Governors. He is the immediate past chairman of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association. Mr. Lubiner is a member of the Bar of the States of New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania and is admitted to practice before the Federal Courts in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, as well as the United States Supreme Court. He is the co-author of the 1996 editions of Immigration Made Simple and Citizenship Made Simple.
